Men's Basketball Defeated at Felician, 105-85

RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Seeing their first action of 2024, the University of Bridgeport's men's basketball team dropped a 105-85 contest at Felician University on Wednesday night. The loss shifts the Purple Knights' record to 6-7 this season, including 1-2 in the CACC.
Trailing by 12 at halftime, Bridgeport was unable to get any closer in the second half. The Purple Knights trailed by as many as 19 in the first half before cutting the deficit to just a dozen at the break.
Senior D'Andre Collins (Newark, N.J. / University HS) piloted the Bridgeport attack with a team-high 18 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Red-shirt senior Jayden Iturmendi (York, Pa. / William Penn HS) joined in with 15 points of his own while Ryan Moore (West Palm Beach, Fla. / Palm Beach CC) and Sam DeSouza (Brooklyn, N.Y. / Benjamin Banneher Academy) each added 10.
Iturmendi also chipped in six boards while Nick Traill (Valley Stream, N.Y. / Valley Stream South) led the Purple Knights with four assists, to go along with six points.
Collectively, the Purple Knights finished 20-of-25 from the free-throw line while nabbing 16 offensive rebounds. Bridgeport continues to lead the CACC in offensive rebounding this season, grabbing more than 15 per contest.
