BLOOMFIELD, NJ - Bloomfield College women's basketball dropped a, 62-57 battle Friday evening to the University of New Haven (UNH) in The Den. The non-conference setback left the Bears with a 2-8 overall record while the Chargers improved to 5-5 on the season.
The teams played to a 28-all tie at the break and Bloomfield edged in front, 41-40 by the end of three quarters.The Chargers galloped to the regional victory by posting a, 22-16 fourth quarter and handed the Bears their third consecutive loss.UNH out-rebounded the home team 48-37 and held a 30-18 advantage on points in the paint.
Nyasia Bryant (Newark, NJ) posted 11 points for Bloomfield and grabbed 9 rebounds to lead the team in 35 minutes of work. Freshman guard,
Kamrin Babbs (Newark, NJ) came off the bench to also chip in 11 points, shooting 5-of-11 from the field.
Bloomfield will take some time off for the holiday break before hitting the road for their next action in the new year against Bowie State. The January 4th showdown with the Bulldogs is scheduled for a 1:00 pm tip-off at A.C. Jordan Arena.
