Orangeburg, N.Y. (11/27/21) The #25 Dominican College women's basketball team fell to non-conference opponent Assumption University. With the loss, the Chargers fall to 5-1 on the season and the Greyhounds improve to 3-2.
Taylor Tomlinson (Middletown, N.Y.) led the way for the Chargers with 15 points. Tomlinson also added five rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Alexis Suarez (Poughquag, N.Y.) finished with 11 points and added three assists and three steals.
Tanasha Mills (New City, N.Y.) added six points and seven rebounds. Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) finished with eight points while Jaid Harrell (Kingston, N.Y.) added six points and a team-high nine rebounds.
For the Greyhounds, Monica Spain scored 15 points and finished with seven rebounds. Amanda Mieczkowski finished with 11 points and seven rebounds.
Marina Callahan scored a team-high 16 points off of the bench and added eight rebounds.
The Greyhounds shot 38.7% from the field while the Chargers shot 33.8%. DC edged the Greyhounds in rebounds 47-46.
Both teams played a close first half and the Chargers held a 32-31 lead at halftime.
In the third quarter, the Chargers remained ahead as both teams put up 16 points each and DC held a 48-47 lead at the start of the fourth quarter.
The Chargers extended to a ten point lead in the final quarter. The Greyhounds used a 17-4 run to complete the comeback victory over the Chargers.
DC will look to bounce back on Sunday, November 28th when they travel to Molloy College for a non-conference match-up at 1:00 PM.
