RINDGE, N.H. (February 10, 2022) – The Franklin Pierce University women's basketball team took to the court in the Fieldhouse on Tuesday night for a Northeast-10 Conference matchup with the visiting Yellow Jackets of American International College. Three Ravens recorded double-digit points, including a game-high 15 from senior Emma Carter (Bristol, Vt.) to lead the Ravens in a 55-46 victory.

With the win Franklin Pierce improves to 10-8 (6-6 NE10), while AIC falls to 9-10 (6-7 NE10).

The Ravens started the first half by commanding the pace of play and jumping to a 20-9 lead by the end of the first quarter. Carter and sophomore Ines Gimenez Monserrat (Mallorca, Spain) each dropped five points in the opening frame, while senior Rylee Skinner (Leominster, Mass.) added four of her own.

The second quarter provided an opportunity for the Yellow Jackets to find their groove on the offensive end of the court, as they at least kept the deficit from getting any worse. Sophomore Kayla Robinson and freshman Nora Young led AIC in the quarter with four points each, and Franklin Pierce took a 33-23 lead into halftime.

The second half was back and forth between the two teams, who were separated by just a single point after halftime. Robinson collected six points in the third quarter, while sophomore Julia Carbonell Munoz added six more in the fourth. Senior Lisa Sulejmani (Burlington, Vt.) found the basket for nine points in the second half, while Skinner added another six to bring her game total to 10 points.

The 10 off the bench from Skinner was part of three Ravens in double figures, as she was joined by Carter's 15 and 11 from sophomore Anna Badosa Soler (Girona, Spain). Carter added nine rebounds to finish one shy of a double-double.

On the other side of the ledger, Robinson led AIC with 12 points, followed by 11 from graduate student Destine Perry.

Next up for the Ravens is a home date against NE10 opponent Saint Michael's College on Saturday, Feb. 12. Tip-off is set for 1:30 p.m. at the Fieldhouse.
