FEBRUARY 15 RECAP

The only game on the Thursday schedule was a CACC North battle in Orangeburg, and it was a tale of two halves:

DOMINICAN 82 FELICIAN 72

Daraja Rodwell scored 16 of his 22 points during an explosive second half and pulled down six rebounds as Dominican rallied to trip Felician at the Hennessy Center for its fourth straight win since suffering a blowout loss to the same divisional rival 17 days earlier in Rutherford. The second-place Chargers trailed the entire first period, falling behind 14-4 and 40-27 before tallying the final eight of the period… the last five from Rodwell. The hosts carried that momentum into the second half, outscoring the Golden Falcons 29-10 (37-10 total run) – the last four again coming from Rockwell – to seize control at 64-50 with 10:12 to play. The margin remained in double figures the remainder of the ballgame, cresting at 81-62 on a breakaway dunk by Jonathan Garcia (10 points, 5-6 FG, six assists, four steals) with 4:49 left. Ian Gardener added 17 points and six boards for Dominican, which also received 16 points and four assists from Daniel Grant. Terrell Spaulding amassed 25 points (3-5 from deep) and 10 rebounds for Felician, with support from Zamir Wright (14 points), Gjaimeir Stanford (all 13 points in the first half, 3-3 from long distance) and Rahsaan Williams (12 points, 13 rebounds, two blocked shots). The Golden Falcons are now a game ahead of Post for the fourth and final divisional playoff berth (essentially two games with the tiebreaker in hand) with three games remaining. They won the glass (42-35) but were outworked in the paint (42-24) and coughed it up nearly twice as often (19-10), leading to a 24-11 scoring advantage.
