Women's Game Recaps #76 - 3/15/17

* Roberts Wesleyan reached the twenty-win mark with an easy 108-63 victory over Crowley's Ridge College (AR) at the NCCAA Division I national quarterfinals in Indiana on Wednesday. The Redhawks dominated the glass (52-33) and feasted on turnovers (20-4 in points-off-TO's) to help blow away the Pioneers (12-20) and advance to a semifinal date with Greenville College (Illinois) tomorrow. The #8 seed Pioneers (who received an at-large bid to the field) led early (5-2) but by the end of the first period RWC was ahead to stay, 25-13. It was a 53-26 halftime tally and the Redhawks poured it on in the second half, making it a laugher. Kindsay Brandt (18 point,s, 4-6 3FG), Emily Miller (19 points, 6 rebounds), Necedah James (17 points), Taya Andrews (16 points, 7 rebounds), Sara Nady (14 points) and Lucy Covely (11 points) enjoyed good games for the Redhawks, who shot 48% overall and sank 16-33 from long range. A trio of Crowley's Ridge players reached double digits, including Emily Eaker (17 points), Chelsie Spence (15 points) and Hannah Willard (14 points) but as a team they shot just 32% overall (9-30 from deep) and had the absurd assist/turnover ratio of 1/15. RWC is thus guaranteed to play on Saturday, either in the title game or the 3rd place game.
