Women's Game Recaps #79 - 3/14/19

* Roberts Wesleyan's bid for the NCCAA Division I national title ended on Thursday with an emphatic 81-49 setback to #2 seed Brewton-Parker College. The Barons (20-12) never trailed and used a 13-0 burst over the final 3:30 of the first period to establish a 28-13 lead, and that advantage never dropped below double digits the rest of the way. Brewton-Parker (Georgia), who will face #1 seed Mid-American Chrsitian for the crown on Saturday, held a 48-27 halftime bulge and were not threatened in the second half. Emily Miller (15 points), Taryn Wilson (12 points) and Taylor Bynoe (9 points, 8 boards) led the Redhawks while Naomi Wilds (18 points, 11 boards; 5-9 3FG) and Latoya King (17 points; 5-11 3FG) topped the Barons. Three-point shooting was a huge key for the winners, who canned 14-36 from deep, while RWC shot just 3-11 from behind the arc. Roberts Wesleyan will conclude the season in the NCCAA Division I 3rd place game on Saturday against host and #5 seed Grace College (Indiana).
